Change skins on-the-fly

The big one. You can finally change skins inside of Trillian without restarting the application. It felt good to get this one out of the way!

Themes and colors

Many folks want Trillian to feel more "integrated" with their chosen desktop background and window skinning theme. With theme support, you can finally match Trillian's colors to those of your current configuration without creating a special skin to do so.

Support for Alpha Transparency

Trillian Astra now has full per-pixel alpha support. The power to use or abuse this is yours!

Custom Windows

Mix and match different styles together with Custom Windows. You can have message windows using a hi-tech style, while the contact list in a Halloween style at the same time.

Minimal Interface

The included Cobalt skin sports an incredibly tiny "minimal" interface for those of you that value simplicity and utility over design.

Baroque Theme, Halloween Theme and more!

Support for glass effects in Windows Vista

Skinners can now customize how Trillian should adhere to Windows Vista's new glass effect, making for an even more seamless integration into this new operating system.

User-created language packs

An amazing amount of work has been contributed by our world-class user community in the language pack area. Upon final release, Trillian will support more languages than ever before thanks to your efforts!

Variables and skin math

Trillian Astra exposes a host of new skinning variables, opening the door to incredibly flexible, dynamic skins. Hide scrollbars when they aren't needed, show and hide information without phase changes, and more! You can even define your own button-controlled variables for custom, skin-based preferences. In conjunction with expanded support for basic skin math, skinning is now incredibly dynamic.

Control layering

It is now possible to layer frames in a skin so that images or objects in a frame are placed on top of the previous layer. Using this you can achieve realistic gloss effects and much, much more.
